Silver Medal Qualifier Event - AG and NM

The Argyllshire Gathering and Northern Meeting announce that a qualifying competition will be introduced this year to determine unallocated places for the Silver Medal events at both competitions. The competition will be organised by the Competing Pipers' Association on behalf of the Argyllshire Gathering and Northern Meeting competitions and will be held at the College of Piping on Sunday 22nd August.

The Argyllshire Gathering has 28 competitor places available for this year's Silver Medal; the Northern Meeting, 25. The Joint Eligibility Meeting for both competitions has allocated 'reserved' places based on CPA grades and recent competition track records. 18 have been awarded at the Argyllshire Gathering; 20 at the Northern Meeting. The remaining competition places - 5 at the Northern Meeting and 10 at the Argyllshire Gathering, will be awarded at the 'Qualifier'. 5 Northern Meeting Silver Medal reserve places will also be awarded - there are no reserve places for the Argyllshire Gathering Silver Medal.

Eligibility for the 'Qualifier' will be aligned with the CPA grading criteria and is restricted to pipers graded B or above, or who are considered by the Joint Eligibility Committee to be of an equivalent standard. Entry will be open to those pipers who have registered for this year's event and have not been allocated a reserved place in the Silver Medal events.
