CPA - Competing Pipers Association

Joining the CPA

Membership of the CPA is available in three categories :

  1. Professional Graded Membership - open to those who are actively competing and request a Grading regardless of their age. Those under 18 years who apply to become Graded Professional Members shall cease to compete at Junior level.
  2. Support Membership - open to those who wish to be allied to and in support of the Association including Amateur pipers and former competitors.
  3. Junior Membership - open to those under the age of 18 years who are not Graded Professional Members.

The annual fees enables the CPA to provide members with updates on all activities, and to provide forums for competing pipers to make known their concerns, opinions and views. The fees that we receive help us in our efforts to promote initiatives and ideas which impact on piping competitions everywhere. We welcome pipers from all countries, and even if you have never competed in Scotland, your membership is valuable to us.

Many people have chosen to make a cash donation to the CPA. Please contact us if you feel you may be interested in helping piping in this way.

For further information on Professional Graded Membership, please refer to the FAQ.

  2. Cheque/Postal Order - Forward a cheque/PO for the relevant amount payable to "Competing Pipers Association" to the CPA Secretary
  3. Donate - If you would like to provide additional financial support of the CPA's work, please feel free to donate here. Your donation will be acknowledged by the Secretary and public acknowledgement can also be discussed.

Note

The CPA year runs from November to November. This means that if you join at another time during the season, you will still be asked for a membership fee when you come to grading applications in November. If you join from September onwards, we accept that another payment 2 months later is excessive, and would carry that over to the next season.
