CPA Grading Information

Since 2002, grades have been reported with a plus or minus as well as the letter grade.
There are now over 200 CPA members, and the grading process is always very difficult.
Therefore, a letter grade with plus or minus (if applicable) has been issued to all members.
Below we have tried to provide a general guide to what the grades mean, and approximately how many members currently fall into each grade:

P = have won the Gold Medal or A grade light music at Oban or Inverness (16 Piob, 23 LM)

A+ = very high likelihood of acceptance for the Gold Medal/A grade light music (5 Piob, 4 LM)

A = high likelihood of acceptance for the Gold Medal/A grade (26 Piob, 29 LM)

A- = may be accepted for the Gold Medal/A grade, failing which, will be accepted for the Silver Medal/B grade (12 Piob, 10 LM)

B+ = high likelihood of acceptance for the Silver Medal/B grade (19 Piob, 18 LM)

B = may be accepted for the Silver Medal/B grade (47 Piob, 45 LM)

B- = unlikely to be accepted for the Silver Medal/B grade (61 Piob, 58 LM)

C = will not be recommended for acceptance to the Silver Medal/B grade (10 Piob, 11 LM)
